Certified Alarm Distributors is a leading low voltage supplier in the tristate area; independently owned, and operated since 1976.

Our story began during WWII. Kalman Drebin, founder of Certified Alarm Distributors invented the concept of 'Radar Technology' for the US Army. His career continued as an engineer for the Bulova watch factory. Using the technology of Radar, Mr. Drebin founded his own company called 'Radar Sentry' and installed the first motion detector, used to deter burglaries in a friend's factory. Through word of mouth, his installation company grew, employing 30 installers. He took in anyone who needed work especially young men who had a hard time sitting in school. He taught them a trade for life. He encouraged them to compete against him and open their own installation companies.

1976 - Kalman realizes his students have no way to get equipment, as manufacturers won't provide material. Kalman founds Certified Alarm - one of the first distributors for Low voltage equipment. He would draw and explain how to install and what to install.

1994 - Kalman retires and his right-hand man and eldest son Chaim takes over.
May 1994 - Certified Alarm buys its first building and moves into its new home on 18th AVE. The company sees great growth.
2008 - The company enters a new phase. Chaim's son in law and current CEO Mayer joins the family business.
2021 - Certified Opens its second location in Lakewood NJ enabling it to continue its excellent service into New Jersey.
2022 - Certified launches its first online store
